Before you fly

A passport valid for six months from the day you fly, and an Umrah visa, which pilgrims from Bangladesh get through a licensed agent or the Nusuk platform.
The miqat is crossed in the air on the way to Jeddah. Crews announce it about an hour before landing; many pilgrims put on ihram at Dhaka or change on board before the announcement.
Zamzam water: most airlines flying out of Jeddah and Madinah carry one sealed five-litre container per pilgrim in checked baggage. Check your fare's checked-bag line before you buy.
